Eid-ul-Fitr 1434 was celebrated in Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan and other parts of the country on last Thursday (8 August 2013) with fervor and festivity after 29 days of fasting in Ramadan.
The Eid congregation was held at the Kanazawa City Masjid in Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture. The President of Ishikawa Muslim Society led the prayer. Ishikawa Muslim Society (IMS) organized the whole program.
Around 150 Muslims from Kanazawa, JAIST, Toyama and Noto, most of them are students from different Muslim countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc.) who are now living in Japan for higher studies, offered Eid prayer at the newly constructed Kanazawa City Masjid for the first time.
The Masjid was decorated with banners, balloons and festoons inscribed with Eid greetings. Special arrangements were made for women to offer their Eid prayer at the Masjid. Two buses were rented by IMS to bring people for free from different parts of Kanazawa city and JAIST, and return them back after the Eid festival.
Snacks and drinks were served after the prayer. Japanese neighbors of the Masjid were also invited and they joined with the Muslims in the festival after the prayer.
May Allah accept all the participation and bring peace to whole Muslim ummah.
